I am planning on going just everywhere in Europe. I get unleashed in Barcelona. I want to reek havoc in UK, Romania, Germany, and Turkey in particular. Im especially interested in exploring the underground structures of Turkey like the cave churches.

I really like hanging with people, so if anyone wants to tag along with my fiend and I you are welcome to. We are planning on doing a lot of stealth camping and hitchhiking because im poor. I'm also a goth, and would love to see the different scenes in each country and definitely going to WGT. We are going to be there from the months of May to August maybe longer if the stars align.

Im staying in a monastery in Italy from May to September, I'm from Slovenia.
If you guys are planning to visit central europe, I can show you around Slovenia ⭐

And stealth camping and hitchiking, I love it. I have more experience with squatting, but I want to get more comfortable with being on the move too (only hitchiked 10ish times through Serbia and Bulgaria). Would love to meet you guys, if not in Slovenia, somewhere on the road works for me. I am going to Thailand after Italy (visiting a friend who ordained as a Theravadan monk there, and to practice there for a bit) but its not set yet and after Italy I'm basically free

I identify with queer, neurodivergent, hippie, punk, anarchist, alternative labels
also love goth and the like
I dont really identify with spiritual and religious, my practice is aimed at understanding the mind (Samanadipa Monastery and Hillside Hermitage in Slovenia, they also have YT channels)

We might hit up Slovenia then that is really close to Germany after all.

I have never tried squatting, and I am very interested. I have heard there are lots of good squats in Europe. Wouldn't hurt to check them out. If you have any first-hand experiences to share about it. i love listening to that kind of thing.

I do not have much to say on the monk side of things. I am interested if you want to elaborate further.

Awesome
I dont have any first hand experience from an established squat, but aquatting in Ljubljana is very interesting. You can basically scout the entire "scene" in one day. A massive effort is being put forward by the municipality in recent years to clean up everything that is abandoned so most of it is gone now (I remember 10-15 years ago it was no mans land, you could do whatever you wanted and no one cared) all the squats got evicted and demolished, so the scene is dead now

Finding an empty corner of the city is mostly in half built abandoned buildings or half built mid-build projects now
the rest got sold and rebuilt and demolished, hundreds of properties if not more
but there is still hope outside of the capital, there you can find manors, castles and entire industrial zones, factories, buildings, houses, and you can actually choose, find something decent, that isnt just concrete walls and a floor.

There are a ton of squats here in the EU I want to visit them too ⭐

On the monk side of things, its kind of about meaning and purpose I suppose, what is the goal for the energy you spend in your life, I find great comfort and safety in aligning myself with a spiritual path, it doesnt feel empty and meaningless like dopamine and sensual pleasures do. You can inject good feelings into your mind forever, but at some point you do start to question why thats necessary and what the defition of happiness is.
My path went from the hedonic (mainly escapism) over to eudaimonic idea of happiness (self growth/self-actualization), and from there beyond to Buddhist philosophy which critically analyzes how the mind works and why we even need to find safety in abstract ideas and concepts, why cant we just be happy with what is. What this burning fire of desire and craving actually is.
Maybe it sounds more radical in text, in reality its simply observing the precepts, virtue and sense restraint. Not giving the mind free reign to assert its own assumed ideas of what this and that is basically, you restrain that impulse and zoom out a bit to the context in which these ideas and assumtions arise, to see what the conditions, the conditioning you reinforced from your habits. Its very fulfilling, once it all comes together and you start to see and understand the path to happiness 💕

but yeah, studying the mind, its fascinating

what is your experience on these areas? which idea of happiness do you go with, what do you find meaning and purpose in?

these are the questions my search for peace has lead me to I always find it interesting to ask fellow non-normative souls

Wait... Are you saying I could squat in a castle?!?!??!!?!??!?!? You give me some good ideas. I need to find some abandoned castles now. It's kinda tragic everything is getting cleaned up there, but I am sure there are other places where its still no mans land.

As for the other questions, I find happiness and meaning in new interesting sensations. Like eating an exotic food or being a guinea pig for a medical research facility. The more weird/feared the more enticing. my experience in the study of the mind is limited to areas about control. Like how people manipulate others.

More philosophical questions make me groan because I always feel like I am walking in circles with no real answer. Like drinking a glass of water, but it never quenches my thirst. I just needed a break from it. I spent three years stuck in analysis paralysis.

It's on my bucket list, there is an abandoned castle here I want to visit 😁
Yeah outside of the popular, touristy areas, Ljubljana was not always a tourist hot spot (the city centre used to be infested with cars and parking) now its all cleaned up and made presentable, multiple 5* hotels and such... its sad to see, but that's "progress" I guess? Prices going up, quality of life going up, happiness in my opinion going down
but thats just my musings, when I was 10-15 the city was my playground, now it feels more like a tightly curated and hyper policed theme park 😅 but I started travelling recently now so Im broadening my horizons and finding communities that still have these values, its freeing to know theres more people like this out there

Philosophy is an endless well yeah, thats why I also gravitated towards direct personal experience lately (only been studying Buddhist teachings for a bit over a year, so im still relatively green) Ive been studying the mind since I was 12 tho, but always in the realms of intellectual knowledge, concepts, ideas. So its a breath of fresh air, cultivating awareness and not feeding into the desire to solve all problems only with cognition, thinking, attuning to trust and faith beyond logic and reason, I find safety in this now, where before it would fill me with dread and anxiety
So I get you

I like your approach towards novel experiences, towards new adventures and growth 🤟

I could totally take some pics while I'm there. I have heard as a tip that if you find a way to learn sailing you can get over there, and anywhere really, really cheap with some patience. I think the biggest hurdle is just the transportation costs. I was lucky enough to have someone in my life who got a ticket on a one way cruise to Spain, then couldn't find a roommate so they asked me to come along since they would have to pay anyway. Really lucked out.
