I was in a similar situation, I went for the homeless shelter (one in the church here, the rest are more noisy/chaotic) the nuns here have strict order which is good
and until I got a job and some cashflow, definitely use all the resources you can, and you dont have to make small chat if you dont feel like it
I worked on my boundaries a ton on the street, a simple nod or even "i dont want to talk about it" or just silence
people will leave you alone when they have an idea about you... people on the street are some of the, if not the most respectful bunch on boundaries

Intentional community is always an option, but that is much more active, integrating yourself into the community, shared values, etc, it takes social energy and drive, if you are low on energy to give to this, it can be too intense and can tire you out even more
I went to a few intentional communities before and you need to find one where the people are compatible, it can take some searching... well depends on your preferences I guess, and in the US you have much more options to choose from.

What about workaway/worldpackers etc? where you exchange volunteer work (5hrs/day-5days/week) for food and bed? Theres also a few paid jobs in between, but they usually take people with a lot of references (and dont risk it with "need people right now" posts, those are dumpster fires, learned the hard way)

I did this for half a year to get back on my feet (mentally) then I did shelter and work (still squatting tho, no way Im paying rent lol)
