Women's Backpack?

I recently purchased a backpack (Women's Axios 48). Even though it was not my size, I tried it on in the store and applied weight to it, it felt like it fit perfect. After getting it home, I put it on again and after some time, I realized that the shoulders are too broad and the hip belt is too wide and is digging into my rib cage. I take it off and my shoulders and ribs are sore and that's without walking anywhere.
I kept the tag on and saved the reciept in case I ran into a problem.
Other women's backpacks I found are only one size and I wear a women's small and am petite 5'2".

Does anyone know of a brand or type of backpack that is comfortable for small framed women (narrow shoulders, thin hip belts, etc.)?
I'm looking for one that is 40-50L.

Try Kelty brand packs, go someplace with a good selection, and where they obviously know what they are talking about. Try on many and adjust them, ask them for some weight to test, make sure it's right, and then either get it out of there, or go find it cheaper. North face is pretty damn good for smaller people, though they fail horrible for large people.

Alright, thank you. That is a brand I have yet to try. I try on all backpacks whenever in a store lately, just to get a feel and preference. No luck yet. Though after talking to multiple gear stores in my area, they said they will have more selection when it gets close to spring so I am just going to hold off on getting a pack until a month before I leave this spring that way I make sure I see them all and hope to find one that actually fits me.

There probably will be bigger selections come spring, though right now you might find great deals on older models as well.

hmmmmm, the idea of a womans backpack is superficial but i can vouch for kelty brand. i been using an external frame pack from them for like 8 yrs, no problems. its kinda big but works well in any situation whether riding, hiking, or car camping at a festie, it gets the job done well.
