That's super funny and cool I used to go to the thrill house records sometimes last I checked they had installed some cool 90s arcade machines cant go wrong with Mexican food in the mission if your ever in the mission again I recommend going too a Mexican restaurant called taqueria San Francisco there's interesting mural art work there and great swizz quesadillas some of my favorite Mexican food anyways thanks for commenting I had forgotten about thrill house records and how good the Mexican food is in the mission
Hell yeah, I will definitely check that one out next time I am up that way. Do you know if Bound Together is still up on Haight? SF has some awesome book stores. Even City Lights is great if you can get there on a day that it's not packed with tourists.
I don't know if you ever get out to Vallejo, but the best Mexican place I ever went to was called Los Arquitos kind of by where the Hells Angels HQ is. Bomb enmoladas, Bomb wet burritos. I think my favorite mission taqueria was El Castillito, the one I used to go to was right off the Bart at I think 16th and Mission... Used to call that area night of the living dead at night because it really used to look like that, people all fucked up wondering around in the street.
Last time I was up there in SF all the cool stuff was getting pushed to the outer mission and the Sunset and the mission proper was getting a lot of amazing murals painted over with that Beige paint that doesn't even match and looks fucken horrible... California seems really fond of beiging over some amazing art, for no good reason (LA does it like 5 minutes after anything cool goes up). That shit pisses me off, since there are so many talented mural artists around the bay area. I had moved out to Vallejo before leaving the bay area. I like it out there a lot actually. People in the bay area love to shit on it, but go check out the Mare Island preserve some time, there are some cool abandoned bunkers and an abandoned Naval Yard you can kind of crawl around in if you're careful... Just treat it like a train yard or anywhere else you're not supposed to be and you'll be fine. Also Port Costa is another hidden gem over by Crockett. I'm getting all nostalgic.
