Welcome to the site, sorry things are so rough right now. How long until you turn 18? Maybe we can help you prepare to leave so you're not totally screwed when it's time to take off...

thanks, help is needed. have about a year. I'm trying to graduate early so i can work a bit on the farm n shit, even then it isn't much. I've thought about leaving this house early, she has stated she wishes she could just kick me out so??
I think i have a place to stay, but the guy is weird and will probably want ''things'' from me. it's one option i have lol.

Well, let's try to avoid that option! We can help you find the gear you need to survive on the road (and even thrive in long term travel) if that's something you want to do.

I'd probably start with our gear guide which you can find on our gear resources page here:

Good luck and welcome from a fellow trans guy!
There's a good amount of trans/nb folk on here so you've got support on that end as well.
And if it's cool to give unsolicited advice... Stay the fuck outta the "u owe the creepy guy favors" situation. Being houseless (when it's not freezing) is better than living with a creep or someone who expects u to fuck them.

Being 17 and hating your parent(s) sucks.

Being 17 and out of their house may suck more, and definitely will suck way more if you move in with a "guy [who] is weird and will probably want ''things'' [translation: slavery, not the hot porn kind, the kind they teach you about in school] from you.

If you can stay with shitty parent(s) (or with maybe a friend who has cooler parents?), and graduate high school before you split, you will have a lot more options more easily later in life.

On the other hand, this advice comes from an old man, who did exactly what you are thinking about doing, or worse- i got thrown out of high school, and split home at 17, and turned out fine. And i hitched 90 miles today, so not totally stale as a source of advice.

You have come to the right place to plan your escape. If something like this had existed when i was 17 (back in 1976, when folks rode Bicentennial Dinosaurs), my life on the road would have involved fewer cold nights sleeping in ditches in a tarp (once with a full leg cast; age 17).

Welcome.

ah i just realized i typed parents,, i meant grandparents. i don't hate them,, they tell me that they wish i were not in this house(that i have demons in me) rip. and other things but i wont go into detail cause this is an intro page. thank you for the advice, wise man.

i also got kicked out of highschool yo,, well i could go back now but i am homeschooled.

Edit: im graduating early,, around december so i won't leave until my education is done : )

You are home-schooled by Bible-bashers?Jesus H. Fuck On Rollerskates, that must suck.

Try to endure and finish, and keep reading, and start spending any money you can get without hanging with weird adults, on camping gear, after reading up here.

You need a real backpack (not what kids have at high school), and a serious winter sleeping bag, and a military MSS bivy bag, and good boots you can walk a long way in, and a knife that won't get you arrested, and a lighter. Really, at your age, most other stuff is luxury.

A very useful word i learned from dirty kids is "smiley"- i never before knew a word for that thing that is a rock, or pool ball, or part of a brick, or other compact heavy object, in a sock, or stuff sack, or purse, or whatever. Don't leave home without it.

No matter how rough things get, they will only get better with time. Like, if you've never camped before, it will probably suck at first, but once you get used to it, it's not so bad. And the more you learn through experience, the more you'll be able to get comfortable and improve your life. The nice thing about rock bottom is that if you can thrive there like I do, the more empowered you'll be and you'll never have to worry about shit plus you can only go up from there.

Hey Tyler this is a late response but I feel for ya dude, being a trans ( I’m agender myself) person in Oklahoma is a nightmare, if you ever need some guidance or support feel free to message me. Just remember your safety is important lots of us LGBT+ people can find ourselves in dangerous situations because we come from unsupportive homes, so please exercise caution if you stay with anyone. I would be heartbroken to hear of another injured or dead trans kid.
