What do you pack for the fall and winter

What do you carry for fall and winter how to keep it light weight

I carried a zpacks duplex as a tent however it really depends how harsh of a winter and for what purpose you are asking

I live in new York so it get really cold in the winter time

Is the purpose hiking or just camping in one spot or dwelling in cities or?

If it’s going to actively snow you want a hilleberg and your just screwed with the weight… otherwise get a single wall three season and just a wicked sleeping bag and pad like a western mountaineering and a therma rest therm max.. unless your want to hammock which opens up a massive world of customization… but if your not concerned about weight and quality really just any Walmart Coleman will work… there’s just so many options and avenues of customization you can run down you can even technically use a bivvy and tarp in the winter just I wouldn’t
