Hello all, this is my first post and I would like to introduce and explain a little about myself.

I am 24years old, single and currently living in Tampa FL. I recently lost my job with the company I have been working with for 5 years. Well I decided to move back into my parents house untill I could find steady income and help save a little money...What a big mistake. My dad is still a drunk and takes oxy's and my mom manages a hair solon to make just enough to get by on. What a wake up call, I moved in 16days ago and it is definitly not going to work. I don't see how these 2 people are still together, honestly.

I just started a job last week at a CVS to get some sort of income, this experience has really made me feel like the sheep I am in the herd of society. I am tired of the daily grind, it just doesnt feel natual to me and never really has. I am ready to cash out on most of my belongings and do what has allways been in the back of my mind calling me. I have been doing lots of research on rail lines, supplies I should carry, reading peoples past experiences etc.

I am ready to be free, travel, drift and live by any means necessary. I want to start making my way out west on the rails. If anyone has any advice to give someone who is fairly green but absolutely 100% ready and determined to do whatever it takes, please share. I am also open to partnering up with someone who is experienced and wouldnt mind showing me the ropes. I hear Tampa can be tough place to catch out of. Thank you.

welcome. keep reading posts and start networking. This place is worth diggin into because you'll learn a lot.

not a bit of what you learn here will matter once you get out there, but it helps to gain confidence. Learn through action.

Thanks. Mentaly I am there, it is just a matter of gathering things and selling a few more items to get some extra cash together. I had a friend of mine setup a post mailbox in san-fran so I could send money and other things I do not wish to carry. If anyone is familiar with the Tampa area and could offer good some advice, I am all ears.

Thanks Arrow. This isn't my first time venturing off though, when I was 19 I dropped out of community college, not really seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I headed north with a child hood friend of mine and we ended up in Culpepper, VA near Brandy Station. There is where I found work at a huge thoroughbred horse breeding farm. They provided housing, the work was fun and I got to travel quite a bit with the horses. Anyways the farm shut down, went bankrupt and now I feel the same way I did when I was 19.

I am starting to get all of my shit together, Sunday I am heading out. I met a pretty cool chick yesterday while I was wondering around east Tampa near Yeoman Yard. She is familiar with everything and really wants me to head up to Charlotte NC with her, I'm all for it.

Thanks again for the advice, my eyes nearly started bleeding while reading all of the helpfull and informative post on the board. I will definitly keep posting here whenever I can find the time.
