Question rant: rich people charity isn't love

anyone ever been taken in by rich people, then cast aside when they got bored, or it wasn't convenient to them anymore? just got my heart broken by some folks who were talking big like they wanted to be my goddamn surrogate parents. people who genuinely made me feel like they cared about me.
then out of nowhere, they asked me to head out—not bc I did anything wrong, but just bc they want their spare room back.they’d been feeding me, housing me up, and I feel stupid to even be sad about it. I am grateful for all they’ve done. but wow. it fkn hurts. they don’t owe me anything. I’m not entitled to shit. but it still sucks. I was stupid to think it could be real. I should get back on the road anyway, it’s just been a really fucked year, I just needed somewhere to catch my breath and get my feet under me, but now that’s going away too. whatever.

I expect to get kicked out, no matter how "nice" people are. I live with someone who is very generous right now, not rich, but I know from experience I will wear my welcome out if I get too comfortable.

Need my own place if I want to rest my bones.

My parents abandoned me, my grandmother threatened to disown me, my aunt threw me out during covid, calling me an orphan in a venomous way, friends have easily discarded me, I would ask friends for help more but I already feel like a burden. If my whole family hates me, it seems like having expectations of anyone is insane.

Gods know I need a surrogate family, but I'm also wary of that kind of thing. If I'm not blood tied and familiar enough, I am going to struggle staying on their priority list at all. The sense of obligation, as I'm an adult, is highly unlikely and would be unstable at best.

I just do my best to pull my own weight and guage peoples' "give a damn" meters. Once it gets low enough, I get out of there.

Maybe people can see me as a feral pet, best case scenario.
