Remember that Matt was a very close friend of mine... that said, his projector is now in my possession and the screen will be soon also and movie night will be continued by next season here at the Library. I thought I told you that? Oh well.

I'm thinking we're going to call it Movie Matt's Memorial Movie Monday. Can you say "MMMMM?"

still sad about matt even though i didn't know him well (he seemed so young though?) but that's cool you're picking up the movie thing in his wake (first i've heard of it, but i'm glad you are), and i love the title, that's awesome.

@Cornelius Vango do you have any movie suggestions?

we could watch who is bozo texino that I subnitted here, great flick.
as far as bad ones, wedding train is atrocious lol

has anyone seen this movie?

I've got the movie, but it has been a while since I saw it. As far as I remember it is worth watching, especially if you are into their music obviously.
Movie Matt's Memorial Movie Monday would sadly also been given another sense, since Chad Fontaine passed away a few months ago.

wedding train is a amazing "how not to act" movie. it really is so bad its good. the best part is those people actually exist and are either embaressed as hell about acting that way, or are so proud they cant even explain how great they are. also im like 99% sure the male person makes a super quick cameo in "long gone" sitting around a fire with a bunch of older riders.

I say we watch the xaviar episode " escape from squatopia" its relevant and stunningly beautiful lol

He died of unnatural causes, just when he was able to beat serious alcoholism. It serves as an example to all you punks out there, even if you're fucking awesome and doing things for your community and getting shit done, your vices can take it all away and take you with it.

As for movie ideas, our hard drive seems to have been stolen or lost, but I am able to obtain basically anything, or transfer your files to my computer if you have stuff that I don't. If you folks can compile a list of stuff that you would like me to acquire, that would be most helpful as I'm not online too often.

also keep in mind im on a fat ol internet pipe here in austin, so i can grab just about anything we can find on the net and bring it out.

The freight series by indecline - it looks liks 1-3 have been taken down but 4-6 are still up on youtube.

Just about anything by swampy on his youtube swampysdiary

Scarecrow with Gene hackman and Al Pacino. A great hollywood road movie.

there's a movie theater here in austin called the alamo drafthouse theater, and i used to work there a few years back. one of my favorite things about their movie showings was that before the movie instead of playing ads they'd just show like 20-30 bizarre or funny youtube videos that were along the same subject matter of the main feature, so it was always worth getting there early.

anyways, i might queue up a list of awesome youtube vids to play in between movies... i can download them and queue it all up as a playlist.

i just remembered, there's a documentary on squatting by hannah dobbz called 'shelter'. i've never seen it, but i'd buy a copy to show folks at the jambo.

Tony Gatlif is a great french director who's made it his life's work to make movies about the Roma people aka gypsies...he also made a movie (I haven't seen) about the liberatad movement in Spain which was the very first "occupy" movement.

Has anyone mentioned Emperor of the North? Classic train hoping movie.

I was thinking the same thing myself. First, it's a classic about Bo's and hopping. Second has Ernest Borgnine, Keith Carridine and Lee Marvin. Third, I bet a lot of people haven't seen it. Then I wasn't sure if some would think it wasn't 'independent enough' of a production.

I just torrented and watched it a couple of weeks ago. Still a great movie.
