Gone Walkabout
Seems you can't turn a corner here without coming across more beauty.
Spent a bit of time up in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park the other day, great spot for hiking and exploring. I'm planning on heading back up there soon and spending a couple of nights (and, y'know, actually being prepared and not heading up an old road on a whim)

. Kokanee is about 15mins north of Nelson, this section of the part is up a well maintained/well signposted FSR.

It's a bit of a climb up, but the road was pretty decent. Was thankful to have a little bit of clearance in my car though.

Beautiful, right?
What tripped me out was seeing this sign up top and having to fence my car off.

Anyone around the Kootenays chasing a hiking bud should hit me up!

oooooooooooo these are some amazing spots..

& educational on the porcupine upkeep

did you pack the fencing in? I figure they sell it at the local hardware store?

Damn, that's beautiful.
I can also vouch for the porcupine thing. People say boars and hogs will eat anything, but porcupines are like little spiky savages with a serious case of Pica.

Wowwww more gorgeous pics, Ben!

Crazy about the porkies! Wonder how many people have gotten stuck cause parts of their cars got chewed thru :O

They actually had everything you need up there, heaps of chicken wire and rocks/sticks were everywhere.

Cheers Juls, we should go adventuring again when we're back in the same country :)
...and anyone that got any part of their car chewed through would be fucked! It's a long, rough walk back!
