Okay so i know this isn't travel related and if it isn't excepted please delete.

I know that there are fellow brits and Mancs amongst us. Even as a small number we are brits and we have the war time spirit and camaraderie.

I can say that as a manc we will not be divided or broken.

If they're anyone with individuals still missing they're a few still holed up in the premier Inn just around the corner from The M.E.N.
This is the emergency contact number for anyone involved or concerned.

Mancunians show real Manchester spirit as they shout down EDL protesters

partial excerpt below:

Mancunians turned their anger on the English Defence League when the far-right group held a display in the wake of last night’s deadly bombing.

Men carrying English flags clashed with police and protesters outside the Arndale Shopping Centre in the city, which was briefly evacuated on Tuesday morning.

But they were outnumbered by Mancunians who condemned their protest of the attack, which happened after an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena and killed 22 people, including ‘many’ children, Prime Minister Theresa May said.

Footage obtained by Reuters shows a man shouting at EDL protesters outside the shopping centre.

He says: ‘The people of Manchester don’t stand with your xenophobia and racism.

Yeah that sounds about right for us mancs' we don't support the EDL just the same as the likes of Isis and any other Fu*kers who want to mess with us.

The perpetrator was a lone wolf, in all likely hood not even associated directly with Daesh (a preferable term to ISIS, as Daesh are neither truly adherents to Islam, nor a state), although Daesh did claim responsibility as they usually do after any mass killings in Western nations. The important thing is to not allow an Islamophobic discourse to take hold, especially with racists like Tommy Robinson and his ilk, who will also use this opportunity to fuel their own xenophobic agendas.

From a YPG Manc volunteer in Rojava regarding the attacks:

"Our ranks are made up of Kurds, Arabs, Yezidis, Brits, Yanks, Canadians, Aussies, Asians, Europeans – Muslims, Christians, Alevis, atheists – too many faiths and races to list. A multi-ethnic, multi-faith entity, standing united against hate and extremism. The majority are, in fact, Muslims, and not only are we proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them – the truth is, we can’t do this without them… The only way to defeat hate and extremism is to not give in to it… Don’t stand with Britain First, the EDL, UKIP or those who talk and think like them. Stand with us"

As with anywhere, there will always be those people that try and stir up trouble. this little snippet pretty much sums up Manchester.

Wow, hadn't heard of that until now. Insane.
We're at the collapse of the west, in case ya couldn't tell. What's insane about this kind of shit is that it will stir up anti-muslim sentiment, which will fuel more war in the middle east, which will fuel more terroristic sentiment from a minority of muslims who feel fucked over by the west. It's a cycle of death and division of the working class, and it's sad all the way through. A suicide bomb today in the UK, a carpet bombing in Syria tomorrow.
welp, guess I'll have another beer............

I have been watching the sources of this type of attack and it appears to come from mostly followers of the Shia sect and not the Sunni sect. The Shia are in the minority and see themselves as the true believers fighting for their cause against all infidels which includes Sunni Muslims. This is a schism that is over a thousand years old and it doesn't look like it's going to be resolved any time soon.

This guy in Manchester sounds like he was pretty much an asshole that hated everybody including himself. I feel bad for his parents who fled Qaddafi's government so long ago and made a decent life for themselves in the UK.
