Howdy dudes and dudettes!
I've been lurking on here for awhile and just decided to make an account. My brother has been hopping trains and hitchhiking for almost ten years and it's always something I've been interested in. I got a pretty solid job and don't know if I could ever commit to it full time but it would be nice to in my free time.
I live in Austin, TX and the tracks go right by my house. Just cruising pretty slow a lot of times too, I've been studying which cars to hop on and might do it soon. Who knows.
I really enjoy reading everyone's stories, they don't help the wanderlust I've already been feeling.
Anywho, y'all stay safe out there, hope I have a story of my own to add someday soon.

Which direction you headed? By what method of travel?

i, personally, am going anywhere the wind takes me, and most likely to be starting off in a vehicle which i will probably be done with at some point

Yes, no job=no gas/insurance money... If you have good karma and a decent character, you may get lucky and find work where ever you land... Which means you can live out of your vehicle... Living in a vehicle is the way to go over being on foot, but yea, sometimes people end up with no choice. I wish you the best! Keep us posted on your adventures. Id love to hear more!
