KC > New Orleans

Howdy, names Merle. I’ve been train hopping on and off for little under a year. I make a bit of money on the way with my guitar and have ridden west a couple times.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience riding from KC to New Orleans? What should I look for and what is the best route to take?

I've not ridden that way but since u haven't gotten any input yet: if I was gonna I'd go KC to Memphis on BNSF, Memphis to nola on CN

Or KC to Shreveport, Shreveport to nola (both kcs I think)

The first option is prob ur fastest
 
I know this is old BUUUT...

Personally I'd do kc-shreveport-meridian-nola.
Probably the chillest/easiest of like 4 or 5 routes off the top of my head. bnsf/cn via memphis seems faster in theory because it would be 2 trains but i bet that cn costs you some time unless youve been there before.
