Hey all! I'm buckwheat, I been wandering since 18 and have no plans to stop. I love dirt. I've been building houses with dirt for the last 2 years. I'm interested in trains, natural building, permaculture and primitive skills! Caught my first trains this past February and it was honestly the best days of my life!! I recently worked my fingers to the bone to purchase a lil travel trailer to have as a home base and am looking for a radical spot to park it. I'm headed for the roads and rails of mexico this december :D Looking forward to getting to know you all : D

(I hope this post comes out in the introduction section, I suck at computer stuff)

Welcome! You have any pics of the houses you made with dirt? I googled it and the pics go all over the place, from brick, brick & mud, manure and straw ... hehe you get the picture.

Have any specific route in mexico you're aiming for? Im heading back out onto the road in 3ish weeks and plan to go "by land" as far as i can. finding a fellow traveler through mexico would be great.

Yep, that's google for you! Try googling "super adobe" houses, it's a way of building with earth that was designed to be very simple for anyone to build, with the minimum amount of tools and materials. You fill long sand bags with earth then compact them, similar to rammed earth. The houses are resistant to earth quakes because of their geometry, they are domes or vaults. Anyhoo, here are pics of 2 houses I've been working on over the past 2 years, one is in Jalisco, the other in Mojave desert.

We are headed for Nayarit first , then Mexico city where we will meet up with other friends to just travel around Mexico, not sure exactly where. The thing is we have a ride to Nayarit, and I doubt there will be room. Perhaps we could meet up in Mexico city, let's keep in touch, send me a message.
