Hi everyone. Honestly I only joined to get some help. My family and I are sort of being evicted (not evicted on paper... but we have to move out, it's a long story) and we'll be searching for a safe place to be for a month or two. It's me (28) my partner (she's 29) and our daughter (4). We've been living in Berkeley for almost 2 years. It's been rough. I know of only one place around here, but I've passed by some interesting houses but never talked to anyone about them. When it comes down to our final day here, we'll probably be at Food Not Bombs and just ask around. Sometimes I see people who are obviously traveling, passing through, or maybe just residents, so we can ask them too. But I thought coming here to ask would be a good idea too. We would rather try to stay with people who we might have things in common with than just going to a community shelter or sleeping outside... mostly for our daughter. We have some ideas of outside places to sleep but again, for the safety of our daughter we want to try to meet people.
