Thank you! As an anarchist I hate the idea of my life running around money. But as for college I have no passion in any major. I would most likely pick business just for its universality, but I hate the idea of my job being worthless if a revolution happened and an anarcho-communist community formed.Welcome to the site Jake. I suggest hitting the road, but if you did go to college what would you like to study?
Thanks for your input. I guess I'd rather hit the road but I'm not sure if I could survive. As for your quote, wouldn't it be easier to hit the road before my life is crippled by student loans?Welcome.
Just to even out your responses, can you also go to a forum where there are many people who are scholars gather and pose the same question?
'Cuz the term "selling out" is just going to get you the answer you're looking for if you're looking for people to tell you that "hitting the road" is better.
Confucius say, "it is easier to go to school and then hit road than it is to hit road and then go to school".

I guess I feel like I wouldn't want to travel with a huge amount of debt on me. Wouldn't it only make it immensely harder to pay back if I hit the road and have a year or so of absolutely no income? No, it gets easier after you incur debt which you'll have great difficulty repaying Great thing is, after you've been on the road for awhile you have a degree to fall back on.
Thanks for replying. I honestly have no interest in any college other than the fact that it will get me out of my mom's house and give me structure for the next 4 years of my life. At the same time though I really do want to go on an adventure and decide what I want to do later in life because as of right now I have no clue. The only thing I want is to remain true to my morals of not letting my life be determined by money or any type of corporate system. I'm just not sure how I can do that and not die on the road or kill myself in some dead end job.Do you know 100% what you want to take in school/do with your life? Travelling may/usually changes your opinions on things/life. So I'd say do it before investing in well anything that may steer your life one way or the other. If your worried about student loams massing up, imagine taking 3-4 years of school and then realizing it isn't the area your interested in. Happens all the time, and that's not even including the kids who actually get out there and see the world.
So ya in short, travel as soon as you can. It only gets harder as you get older and more tied down anyhow...the time to be free is now.

Oh I see. I'm just more worried about how I would function, where I would go, how I would sleep. much rather travel with someone else but no one I know would hit the road with me. I'll keep an eye on the travel buddy boards when school gets out. I'm finishing senior year now.The world isn't anywhere near as dangerous as people would have you believe...don't even worry about dying on the road. Settling for a job/life you don't really want on the other hand, is soul crushing...
