Hey, Nice to be here, hope to learn some stuff and maybe meet a few of you some day.

I'm 19, just finishing culinary school. I've been bidding my time slowly filling out the obligations of society and doing my best to fit in but now that period is nearly over and I am ready to follow my intuition, and live the lifestyle I want to live. It should be fun :)

I dont agree with this society, the materialism, the hatred and war, the destruction of the planet to create "profit" and consumer goods and many other social issues you guys are probably aware off. I want to make a positive impact on this planet, and live a life that makes me happy without hurting others or the planet. I'll be a bit tied down for the summer and fall, I've managed to get an internship on a small organic farm. The owner agreed to let me build a little hut on his property to live in while I work there. This is really important for me to learn these skills, and i want to combine it with my passion for cooking. I think the future for a healthy happy planet is to localize the economy and mainly being self sufficient in our communities. This means producing our own food, our own homes, relying on each other instead of money. So I want to learn these skills, and hopefully teach them to others later on.

Apart from that, once thats done I want to travel around. I want to go back to british columbia where i worked for a while and travel in that beautiful province. then eventually head down to the states and then south america. I have this wild idea of trying to bike all the way down there. Maybe this will happen, but i'll let the moment guide me. I dont like to make plans to much :p

and a bit about me, im an old soul with a lust for adventure and a hatred of routine. I speak french and english, im generally a very happy person although i do have my downs like most of us...I. my goals in life are really health and happiness, and doing something which i can feel proud about.

if you wanna know anything or just chat dont be shy

and also my name on here, 'Nemo" in latin means nobody...sort of little inside joke.

If you cook, you can go anywhere.

Everybody has to eat...not everybody can cook.
^I'll never understand why it is that way, but it is.

Welcome.

I instantly translated that. Clever. I too would like to see SA in a while. Maybe we could plan something (plans are good for coordinating).

Welcome.

Thanks ! And yes very true. Cooking jobs are very easy to find, and it's a lot of seasonal jobs too which is actually great for this life style. And I've met lots of similar souls in kitchen or people who are interesting.

Would be nice ! Well see what time brings, still a ways coming for me. And sadly I didn't make it up, theirs a vagabond traveller from the early 1900's who used that as his travel name...and I think he got it from captain nemo in that book 20 000 leagues under the sea
