Hi, my name is Trevor. I apologize for the Adele title. I couldn't help myself.
I am an entrepreneur in my early 20s trying to make it here in Phoenix, AZ. I like to travel whenever I can afford to and try to get out of the U.S. every other year. My favorite places are Thailand and Central/Eastern Europe, particularly Poland, Hungary, and Latvia. I worked for a Tanzanian travel company and climbed Kilimanjaro, but haven't traveled to any other African countries, though I would certainly like to. My dream is to journey in the Middle East/Central Asia, particularly in Iran, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, but I am sad that the political situation makes it impossible. I wish I had been born 50 years earlier, in this respect.
I am not exactly a misfit traveler, never having traveled by hitchhiking, but I have earned my fare by collecting fares for a songthaew driver on Route 105 in Thailand. I usually travel with a companion, as my favorite aspect of traveling is being the logistics planner and then being able to reminisce afterward, but many of my favorite memories have been of traveling long distances by myself, whether riding a bicycle to the Austrian border, walking across Budapest overnight to find a lost companion, or swimming from outpost to outpost on the Moei River to escape the heat of the Thai sun.
I found this site after following Matt on Twitter. He reminded me of some of my other favorite travelers, Wade Shepard of Vagabond Journey, and Colin Wright of Exile Lifestyle, so I had to check this place out and maybe learn some cool insights about atypical travel or live vicariously through those of you who are traveling until I can afford to
Thanks, and safe travels to you all!
