Just got back to town from my annual holiday camp out. It was several days of windy and cold weather in the Huachuca mountains of South Eastern Arizona. There is a tropical weather system coming out of the sea of Cortez in Mexico, making the Huachucas an unpleasant place to be. The weather was soo bad over the last 72 hours that I was forces to spend 50 hours in my hammock reading and riding out the weather.A pack Rat chewed off the belt of my backpack but I was able to fix it with the belt from my day pack, I cooked some decent foods, saw 1 doe deer and 1 skunk. All things considered it was a great camp out. This AM (Jan 1st 2017), I packed my gear and headed out. It took me about 5 hours to hike the 14 miles back to town.

Anyhoo, see you on the trail!

Well I'm glad you had some things to do during your 50 hour wet ordeal :) And Happy New Year to you as well. :)
