Starting next month, I'll be rubber tramping around the US in a Jeep Cherokee. Still have to do a few mods and get some more gear to get. It will be my dog and myself unless I pick up some more strays..lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Im in the scranton area if you stop by the area ill show you great camping and swimming spots!

Thank you so much! I planned to stick around PA for a little while to gain experience. Do any of the places allow pets? I have a 5 lb Chitalian Greyhound.

Oh my - a girl I graduated HS with has her most loved little italian grayhound pics galore on her facebook - and in outfits hehe - and yours with chiwawawa in there - has to be adorable (hint at pics). Welcome aboard and it sounds like you are looking for some good adventures! Have fun!!! (and as always I have to add stay safe)

Thank you for the welcome. I only dress her up when it's cold or rainy. Found her abandoned at a truckstop when she was 7 weeks old. She loves to travel and camp.

I was going to stick around the NE until it gets cold. I know that AZ, NM, and CA are places I want to visit again.

I had some bad experiences last time on the road. Pepper spray didn't work but a store clerk came out to my rescue. This time I'll have a weapon on me at all times.

Again, thanks for the warm welcome. Take care and stay safe too.

great vehicle. imo. i had a 87 and 95 in the past. kind of small 4 me to sleep in thou

This is a 92 JC Laredo. I'm only 5'1 and 115 so there will be plenty of room for me. Parts are easy to find and cheap.

I also wanted something 4WD and that wouldn't attract cops. Around here they run off or arrest the ones in van and campers. They leave the ones in cars and trucks alone. Then again, I never saw a car dweller light a bonfire in a Walmart parking lot...lol

do u know where youre headed after pa? you should come out to the jambo!

Great idea, thank you. I was just going to wing it. Everytime I make plans something seems to happen. Since I'll ha e ffeeding, there's really nothing to interfere.

Sorry to hear you're in the hospital. Hopefully you be on your feet soon. Many blessings!

This was $650 with 175k miles. It was inspected and garage kept. The only problem was a leaky brake line.

I've always liked older vehicles. They're built tougher and are easier to fix.

tru and the 4.0 liter engine is super AWESOME!!!!!!!!! as long as u change the oil and do regular maintience( or however u spell it)

I had an 89 xj. I paid $1000 for it with 235,000 on the clock. It was the first real winter car I ever had. The lil 4.0 inline 6 pulled like a mule. I beat the crap out of it and even ran it without oil one time. Sadly it developed floor rot and was retired to a farm vehicle 10 yrs ago. I still see it driing around town.

Hey! Where are you in PA? I know of a lot of great spots along the Delaware River (NJ/PA boarder) to go exploring/camping. There's also some decent farm work in Central PA if you need a place to crash for a little. Totally dog friendly. :)
