Getting around big sur

My question is, does anyone know how to get around or if you can sneak though the closure?

its still not open? well not entirely sure but there's back roads. if you talk to some of the locals around monty they might be able to help you out. you might even be able to walk in once there the locals that come and go would prob def give you a ride.

If you go to big sur from the north side its open. i was there last year

You probably already figured it out but I've hitched around it a couple times, 46 from the south and I wanna say 58 from the north, by way of the 101. There's also the nacimiento-ferguson road, which is windy as fuck and I probably wouldn't hitch it, I had the good luck to get picked up by a guy who was going that way. Wildass ride in an old VW bus that felt like a tin can.

One guy told me he walkedthe slide, he said the folk watched the pass leave at 6.30 and that it was about fifteen miles all told, but don't quote me on that
