It seems that it is becoming increasingly dangerous for nonconforming individuals to travel and explore here in the US. Certain politicians are stirring up hatred and intolerance

Isn't that the truth? Traveling as a wlw couple, I've definitely dealt with people who wanted to hate crime us. They just have this look in their eyes like they're waiting for the open hunting season. That's not too far off. Be safe, queer fam.

It's stressful for sure. I've thought about taking my rainbow stickers off the van and not painting my nails and so on, but even with a beard I get "mistakenly" called ma'am in frump country.

Politicians are always stirring the pot.

Be safe, but be you. I've had genuine convos with people that don't know they're being brainwashed while presenting very femme and I've had "oh shit, I'm going out matthew shepard style" moments when I felt like I was presenting very masc.

It's not easy at all sometimes, but I feel like hiding who I am doesn't help anyone other than the haters.
