Best route out of Seattle south by public transportation? Heading to Cali!

What's the best way to take public transportation south as far as possible then hitch to warmer weather from Seattle?

You can take busses all the way to Portland but it will take 2 days unless you time it just right. Or just get to oly, probably easiest spot to hitch

How far did you make it on city busses? I forgot to add you can get to Salem from Portland too

Made it to Olympia then Vancouver on buses. Then the 105 Into Portland. Then point buses to grants pass then public transportation to cave junction then hitched to crescent

Got picked up in crescent city by a fish and game warden who drove us 1.5 hrs out of his way to Trinidad! Then got picked up in Trinidad by a deputy who drove us to arcata. Heading out of arcata on Thursday if the weather holds. hitching south on the 101

i came to comment on the buses not existing anymore between olympia and portland, but that was quite a few years ago. it sounds like there are buses on that route now?
an alternative would be to take boltbus, which if you book far enough ahead, should be about $15 i think.

Boltbus went out of business in 2021. Flixbus is pretty cheap though, and much comfier than greyhound
