I'm going to build an outdoor kitchen while I'm at the jambo. The workshop will be demoing how to construct and use it. In case you're trying to imagine what it will look like, there are a bunch of different ways to do it. I've attached some photos for artistic inspiration. I always wanted to make one and figured this would be the best opportunity. Adobe construction is ideal for hot, arid environments. And the best part is - you can't really mess it up. If you don't like how things turned out, you just kick it over and start a new one.

I attended a workshop for making bread in one of these kinds of ovens in a pueblo in Taos, NM. Would love to use one of these badboys again and learn about building them. Super cool idea.

Actually not really. I built one at Bluegrass rainbow and it didn't take a lot of coals. The heat gets trapped in the walls instead of lost to the open air. That's how it cooks food. Rocket stoves are even better. They're much more efficient than an open campfire.

I realize it depends on design, but don't these generally require lots of fuel?
