So maybe Im just old and out of shape, or lazy... But this dude on facebook told me, his daily average on a 6 week 2200 mile bike tour, was 87 miles... A DAY!!!
But he didnt just do it with a loaded bike, front and back panniers... He was pulling a two wheel trailer, and a 30 LB dog... He...
Does anyone have any big plans for 2019 bike touring? How hard is it to find a touring partner or small group to ride with?
Ill tell you what happenned last year.

Anyways, I've got 5,000+ miles in. I don't use money usually. The clothes I got I either got out of thrift store dumpsters or thrift...

Anyone else have this problem? I've met some cool people but it seems most people bail out of any kind of plans. There should be a way to find someone. Touring alone can be fun and exciting, but having someone to ride with is so much more enjoyable.
This didn't really fit into the workshops section, but last year we did an awesome tour of slabs in my bus and I got to talk about all the different spots, and we stopped at a few places to play around. I would love to do that again this year.
Let me know if you're interested in this!
I really like this guy's videos. Super chill guy and doesn't look like your typical bike tourer- wears everyday clothes and boots, rides a nice Schwinn with front and back racks and stealth camps all over.

I recently sold my Bike Friday folder and bought a Surly Troll. I realized that I enjoy being on the back roads way more than fighting with automobile traffic/exhaust/noise, and the Troll is built for “gravel touring”. With fatter tires (2.5” on mine, but you can go fatter), it plows through the...

This guy has the best Bike Touring Videos I've yet watched. He mentions roads he's on, etc. Plus, he seems like a cool guy. Beware: The videos are addictive.
Now that I've been living full-time in my bus instead of just using it as a detachable bedroom and work truck, I decided to take some pictures of my set-up.
I just finished my first bicycle tour on a folder, and there's no going back.
My traveling life first began when I took off summer to ride 3,800 miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific. I got to see the country. Urban. Rural. I saw the endless farms with GMO corn. I passed farmworkers in full...
So having become fairly proficient in hopping, hitching, and getting around in general. while at the same time becoming bored, disalusioned, and lonely, I shift myself back into meth overdrive one weekend with a 1/4 oz, new rigs, and a whore that has lost 300 lbs in 6 months on the Jenny crank...
So, after many failed attempts at finding a reliable road dawg, I'm saying fuck it and hitting the road on my lonesome. This is greatly inspired by Gypsybones. Reading about his trips gets my blood flowing. After doing extensive research I've put together a budget setup for those broke asses...
