I'm looking at the pros and cons of each and would like for you guys to throw me yr input. So far I know that synthetic is cheaper and dries out quicker while down is much lighter and warmer but takes ages to dry out. So what do you guys prefer? Down or synthetic sleeping bags?

Its big and overwieght and yes the zipper is the weakest link....as far as fixing zippers sometimes its the slider...which can be clamped back togther with a pair of plyers borrowed from home depot or your neaest auto garage

Is it any more difficult to catch rides with a bed roll strapped to your pack? Just seems to make it look like you are carrying so much more and maybe ppl will be less apt to pick you up if you look super loaded down.. Especially if you're traveling with say... Two others and a dog. Yeah? No?
