    Are MOLLE frames shit?

I have an ALICE pack, and I love it, but the belt and kidney pad are fucked up, so I am planning on buying a new one. But I also want a genuine army surplus MOLLE pack. Shit won't fly out when you turn it upside down, you can actually find the attachments, and ACU matches my gothgirlclique look...

News & Blogs Japanese ‘Beg-Packers’ Spark Outrage in Thailand for Thinking They Can Travel Without Money

A pair of Asian travelers were spotted in the Thailand province of Sa Kaeo on Thursday after being inspired by Western “beg-packers.” Beg-packing is the practice of traveling Westerners in Southeast Asia without money, and then asking donations from strangers. Authorities in the rural part...

To the two guitar playing punk kids in VT, you left your backpack on my porch.

Not sure if this is the right place for posts like this, but last night in Vermont two punk kids left a backpack on my porch. No names, but you probably know who you are. If the owner/s of the backpack want to step forward we can meet in a neutral location. Do not come to the house, the...

    DiY Out Of A Backpack

I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for projects or crafts that you could carry with you in a backpack? I'm housed up atm and have been brewing a lot of tinctures. Since all you need for those is a jar, alcohol, and herbs, I'd be able to brew those in my backpack whenever I travel next...

    Recommended Brands for Packs

Hey there everyone! I have a question for those who have experience living out of a pack for long periods of time. What brand would you most recommend? I plan on train hopping this summer and also a little bit of camping. What brand is most durable/reliable? Also, if there is any specific packs...

Should I get a pack with an external frame?

I'm having trouble with my current pack, either because It's not the right size for my torso, or because I have scoliosis. Or maybe because I had never been hiking or anything before becoming homeless. Would an external frame pack be better? I don't plan on train hopping, but I do a lot of walking.

Decent sized pack for small sized people?

I'm looking for recommendations for a new pack. I've been rocking a little assault pack with a bunch of shit strapped to it for most of my travels. I love it, but it's tiny and I can barely carry anything. I'd very much prefer something with plenty of separated compartments, not just a big...

arcata, ca - hitchhiker ride drove off with pack and guitar

Male/female couple, putbull named king. Woman named Angel, heavy set. Male, skinny covered in tats. They were driving a Pontiac Bonneville that barely had breaks so they probably won't have that car for much longer. Really really shitty.

Cheap alice and molle pack stuff?

Hey everyone, I need a medium sized alice pack for train hopping and everywhere I look online sells them for quite a bit of money, like over 20 bucks which doesn't sound like a lot until you consider that that doesn't include a frame or any straps or anything. Since I'm buying those seperate Im...

    Tumpline

Just got into the idea of, when carrying my sometimes extra dog food, extra water on my semi heavy pack, why not rig of an impermanent tumpline to use my neck and noggin to take a little weight off the shoulder and hips. Gonna try her out. Checking out primitive gear and packs got me on it. Even...

Photos anyone wear one of these?

External pockets are my thing. Without this lil baby, I tend to lose my shit. Now some people just don't understand the simplicity of the Ass Satchel. I love it and wanna know your take on external ass-pockets. :)

Knife or Multi tool, what do you carry on your belt, or in your pack?

I've got a belt folding knife and some tools I've collected for various reasons in my back pack. I'd like to lose the weight and get a multi tool that is good enough. I'm thinking about a Stanley? It's cheep enough and good enough.? Not sure. Ideas??

    Pack advice

Hey! So, i was thinking on upgrading my pack, at the minute i've just been using some cheapy pack i picked up in some surplus store. It does the job, but it's not very big and wont store stuff for long trips (I only really do walking for short periods currently, with a tent set up as a "base"...
