To Protect and Serve The Crap Outta You

My dad was a Philly cop. I grew up around cops. They have a mentality like embedded military in a foreign country. Us against them. We are the Lawful. Everyone else is guilty until you prove you are innocent. You are all out to get us. It is a self-perpetuating, self-fulfilling cycle of distrust...

Never leave your pack alone, not even for a minute!

A dawg told me about once when he was picked up by a pickup truck. Pack was in the bed, they were in the cab. They got out and before they could even close the door the guy was off with his pack.

Never leave your pack alone, not even for a minute!

When I'm with a pack or a bag with handles and I'm sitting and it is on the ground, I have my foot through a strap/handle. I've had something snatched from at my feet at a bus stop when I was a kid. Never again.

Yep. Whole lotta nothing at the border. Plus there seems to be a pesky mountain range too. I'm imagining maybe it's a tad jungly. Later Edit: Pic is from Google Maps. I went back for kicks and entered Panama Canal, then asked for driving directions to Colombia. Unfortunately I got: Sorry, we...

"Hit The Road" Hobo Symbol Tattoo I got in Fiji

Today it's probably just used by the homebums which is why nobody on this site knows anything about it. We're generally travelers. It is probably also a local 'dialect'. Take a homebum from Syracuse and plop him in Atlanta and he probably wouldn't know what he was looking at. And I bet nowadays...

"Hit The Road" Hobo Symbol Tattoo I got in Fiji

There were marks. Don't know what they were. My Grandmother told me a story when I was a kid that she used to feed Bo's back in the 40's and they used to leave marks in chalk on her front steps. It would mean that they could get a sandwich/meal there. Think she said it was lines? God, this was...
