Stuck in place, how do you deal with the itch?

Personally I recently had those itchy feet, it didn't feel right though, because all I want at the moment is to settle down and form a network, get a girlfriend etc. What really relaxed the stress syndrome was to pack a light backpack and just walk out of town, only walking for a day and half...

    carrying a rock pick

If I saw a traveller carrying a rock pick I'd automatically find at least 5 obscure ways it could be used for destruction, murder, vandalism and whatnot, that being said, I imagine this full size thing that poaches out 10 inch either side of your backpack. If that isn't the case, I imagine that...

PLeas tell me if I am doing anything stupid

My guess is that a high-consumption would get up to 50$ in a day, think, some people: they'll wake up and go to diner, there they'll have scrambled eggs, bacon, some toast and a large coffee let's just say that's 7,50$ then off they go, and in between meals they'll stop at a gas station where...

I think he just deserved every bit of bad tripping he received. He sounds like a douchebag. I think the whole story was true to the extent of his subjective experience. But who would spend any time chasing down a guy like this?

see ya Tel Aviv / Hello Canada

I know there's a commune in winnipeg called Twelve Tribes, they are majorly religious, will expect you to get up really early, participate in their morning and evening mass. They'll try to explain how you need forgiveness and that they have the right environment for you to change in. But...

    Why should people travel?

People should travel because of the times we live in. Our world has changed increasingly faster over the last century, and here we are. In real time, you can watch a person sitting on the other site of the planet, speaking to you, winking an eye to you, interacting with someone who is nowhere...

Seeing the kind of adventure you're proposing is life threathening and/or atleast seems like it might make you something else than a US citizen (as far as I know the ffl are taking in foreigners to become french citizens) then it might be another extreme in the complete other ditch opposed to...

    Hi friends!

I definitely agree indisputable with your friends viewpoint on this, it's like when you're traveling people tend to have a certain kind of attraction to you, also I think you're having feeling of adventure, discovery and passion. And that this in relation comes back as generosity, somehow people...

    Hi friends!

Well, I bet everyone have their own way of sustaining themselves one the road. For my personal addition to this, I've been really cheeky most of my days on the road, kinda just accepting free stuff, and kind of expecting others generosity to keep me well fed. - it doesn't alqways keep me well...

    Tribulation Preperation

Just to add something that added some forethought for me, I was reading this book half a year ago. Though in Danish it was called "Prepper" - a boy of 17 being the lead character in the novel, he and his family had been preppers for all his life. A few other families were part of their group...

For any advice, I think learning to build a fire is preeminent in wilderness survival. As you're doing your trips that you've planned, learn making a fire. It's one of those skills that are really easy to think that you've got it down with some newspaper and a firelighter. But what about when...

Hey Outlaw! Just wanted to say that I'm in a situation currently that is in ways similar to yours. About two months ago I returned to my hometown, squatted up a place and was begging on the street, there an old friend of mine had seen me, and as his mother is in a position at a cleaning firm...

$150 bike camper: DIY micro mobile home

In order for a self-sustainable community to exist you'll need people who are willing to suffer, especially for others well-being. As a universal law of ethics I don't know how many tenants you'd need, but every personal identity should be capable of measuring his own motivation, for such a...
