There's nothing like following a dead end forest road just because it's there. Monsoon rains have turned the Gila green. Black Range, Gila National Forest.

Funding was just obligated. If everything goes well, I will be living in the first home I have ever owned by Thanksgiving.

So it may not be the mother lode but I think I've figured out how to pan for gold. This is my first little flake with the unmistakable glint of gold (even with the bad focus).

Back in the Gila for some weeks. No sirens, no ATVs, no noise but the wind.

Currently near Tulsa volunteering at a nearby lake. Will be heading West at the end of Feb. Looking for traveliing companion to rubber tramp with me. Must like cats because I have two. I'm open to the universe and love wilderness camping.
