What type of watch to use??

Go cheap. It's going to get fucked up/lost while travelling. Plus, having a computer on your wrist makes you a target for thieves.
 
Other watches:
stomach - time to eat
bladder - time to piss
guts - time to shit
eyes - time to sleep
feet - time to stop
 
I have a Cardinal, which is a basic watch brand, but decent. Just simple and has 4 buttons, alarm and stopwatch mode and a light. Easy, durable, hard to have anything go wrong except dead batteries. Has held up well over two summer trips, and will continue to do so for the forseeable future.
 
i cant come up with any reason to not just get the cheapest working watch you can find. its just a watch.
