So, I thought id say hey to everybody and share some info on my journey so far.
Iv wanted to leave for a very long time, and always talked about living a more free life of travels, meeting people, sharing, and just experiencing life in general. Good and Bad. Everyone who knew me would pretty much blow it off and talk about school or some other way to make a carer, which i'm not interested in at this point. Left with 150$

I left Detroit,MI on April 4th with no real plans, a friend, and to hike the PCT southbound like an idiot (primarily because I haven't had any real exp hiking anything long, or dangerous). But me and my friend said fuck it and left everything behind, which for me was not much. Shit job, owing people money, and living in a shitty city.
We took a train from Royal Oak, MI to Pasco,WA and took a bus to Portland where we made our way to Gov Camp on MT. Hood. We only had Hammocks and no idea that it was still winter on the mountain.

Then

We stayed here for a week before we met a solo hiker that was on his way to a WWOOF farm. So we asked him to ask if they could use some more people the next time he talked to them. The news came back that we could go the next day, so we drank a bit that last night on the mountain. Pretty good times so far.

We got to the farm and it was pretty good. There was 6 others there when we arrived, and they were all pretty nice. Some legit people, and some "vacationists". I hiked alot and camped a bit. Had a good time climbing Angels Rest in the Gorge.

Being 100% broke at this point and working for free we started feeling the need for some cash. After a week, my friend called his old boss to bail him out of the situation he couldn't handle. So he left and I stayed and found work at a local pub. I worked at a marijuana farm plucking yellow leaves a couple times. I ended up staying on that farm for 7 months.

I ended up flying to Hawaii to do the same, and here I am. By the time I leave til be my first year on the road.

I cant wait to see where my travels take me next. Id like to cross the mainland for sure and camp out on some beaches! Thanks for reading, hope it wasn't too boring.

Nah, I wish I was. I just pick Mac nuts and help out around the farm.
And thanks! sometimes I think I have too many. haha

As squatting in Detroit goes, Id have to say there is definitely no shortage of abandoned structures and houses to claim. Detroit's not as bad as they say in my opinion. There are some cool factories in the middle of the hood iv been to that are massive. Mostly artists, urban explorer, and your occasional crack heads will be found in there. But iv never had a problem. I haven't met too many travelers there. But then again I probably wasn't looking in the right places either. If you blend in, your golden!

All in all , itl always be home. People there are definitely not as open, or nice as iv felt in the west.
But it wouldnt be a bad place to check out man!

Had to find a road flair just to start a fire. The wood was all soaked. Good memories tho.

Back in the day i use 2 attend a show called "Rockin the Rockies". It was 3 days of music provided by several bands. I think since the name has been changed and is now "Rockin the Rivers", but im sure is very similar. Some of the best camping ive done has been in Montana. Quinns Hotsprings I think my favorite. Its just outside St. Regis if ne1 in area and wants 2 check it out. Its been several years now since ive attended either place and it was also summer time....weather was nice :)
