Introducing my introduction?

Hey everyone.

I am new here. I read the forums for a while but decided to stop lurking and attempt to socialize. I am from McAlester, OK. The same town in which "Grapes of Wrath" began when Tom Joad is released from the state prison. Recently discovered that the old Choctaw Nation courthouse (half a block from my house) governed over Indian territory and was the starting point for the movie 'True Grit'.

Growing up around here, I felt stifled and never really meshed well with locals. I am s comic book/science fiction/horror-core nerd.I am unfortunately stuck in my area for a good while due to personal matters. I love travel that is striped down and visceral. I have an extremely hard time staying in one place. Life is fluid and always changing. For that, I am always grateful.

Anyway, nice to meet you guys.
 
Everything should be stripped down and visceral. I can't think of anything that is better not reduced to its lowest common denominators. People like Francis Fukuyama would disagree strongly. People who mythologize or gloss over things dislike simplification: to me this is the hallmark of deceit.

And I am fairly (and unfortunately) stationary and will be for a good while. Or at least until the great *ahem fascist* state of Oklahoma frees me from Probation

Hi there - you a member of any of the trucker rideshare groups on facebook? Friends across america or outlaw hippie truck rideshare II for ex? Just wondering as on another group I administrate - they post a daily thread of where ya going, how many are ya, pacs? pets? --- kinda interesting as they've had several people travel with them.
 
I'm a member of outlaw hippie rideshare. In fact, I posted there this morning.
