Actually the wakizashi was the typical short used in the practice of seppuku (Hari Kari) . Kodachi was more closely related to a parrying sword and tended to be wielded by assassins not samurai.
dumbster launcher
with what is neccassary inside the dumpster..like for mcdonalds corps, would get a dumbster full of seering grease with mcdonald toys and syringes mixed in or pet store corps would get dumbsters launched onto them full of animals with rabies...ect

Katana it never runs out of bullets and you get to see your work up close and personal.
A puuko like the finn bear is more a tool than a weapon, and personally I'd probably spring more for a mora knife, but that's my preference for a true flat grind. For my melee weapon, I'd probably choose something like the bushman knife by cold steel, convertable to a spear when I need to outdistance a sword and don't have bullets...

But Teko is right, only rich govenments and warloards can sustain the logistics involed with this kind of warfare. And the best firearm is your fallen ennemies(infinate laser blaster? Thanks dude!)...

my absolute favorite is a long, long barreled single shot 45-70 from harrington and richardson. slow to load but it will kill anything!
