and enjoy an almost perfect piece of music. What other bands do you guys like besides the obvious bluegrass pioneers?

I fucking love bluegrass. Americana too. gahhh now I wanna throw down on some Avett brothers. I've been binging on death metal for too many days in a row.

My neighbors used to listen to nothing but.

I love the musical aspect of it and consider bluegrass musicians some of the most talented.

I can live without the singing though...but that's just me.

so, there's a subgenre of Bluegrass called "Blackgrass." I just learned about this.
It's all "hobo" and "worker solidarity" themed.

badass stuff.

sounds kind of like "folk punk"...but with traditional southern stuff. Bones, mandolins, banjos, fiddles, etc.

I usually hear it being called trashgrass. I guess both work!!

I love bluegrass :)
Saw The Brothers Comatose live a few years back. They did this really cool thing where they'd slowly bend all of the way back on their knees while they were playing, then gradually rise to their feet again in unison, never missing a single beat of music.
Awesome performers and beautiful musicians.
