What's the shitiest place in the US y'all have stayed?

Rural Ohio is pretty bad but how are we defining shitty? Boston and Los Angeles are always shitty to me, Trenton NJ my hometown is a shit hole. Western South Carolina can be a pretty bad place. The southwest as a region sucks. Florida averages poor across the board. Everywhere is pretty much the same just depends what moment in time you are there.

I love how a new one of these threads pops up every now and again....but I still can't resist posting:

All of Texas.... -Austin
Eureka, CA
Phoenix, AZ
Sacremento, CA (although I've only seen the ghetto side)
Daly City, CA
Stockton, CA
Fresno, CA
Barstow, CA
Roswell, NM

Yes, please define shitty? As in the reason for the shitness. Whatever definition you use I agree with ALL of Texas! I have a place in Austin that I could stay for as long as I want but it's TEXAS!

Methtown California sucks. Sort of humorous though in it's intense post apocalyptic feel to it. Some towns in Texas, super misogynistic places where people fucking yell at you a lot (anywhere) or racist ass places in Arizona. There's a lot of shit ha.

Atlanta Ga. hated the weather the gangs and just the feel of the place also the cops.

I have to say Parkersburg, WV. Hard to find a place to park your car so you can sleep undisturbed without being in view of everybody and their brother. Not much shady areas, even in their parks.

yeah i live on and off in in tucson and casa grande . been ripped off in phx 2x and its just too hot plus again the cops. fawk joe racist-arpi-hole and his pink underwear. used to have good Raves though.

I saw none of the happy/hippie side everyone seems to reference; I saw only the dark/aggro side filled with shirtless tweakers on stolen chop-shopped bikes.

(But that was also the first place I had my shit jacked, so maybe I'm just biased.)

Ahhh, you must have been in springfield.....

Shitty people is what makes most places shitty in my opinion.

Eureka CA was def a surprise to me. I thought it was gonna be all Humboldt happy hippy-ness but the vibe in that place is W-E-I-R-D! Feels like the world left it behind and not in a good way.

+1 on Phoenix, Barstow

Gary, Indiana was INTENSE. Prob the craziest place I've been. Hate to call it shitty though. It's just sad.

Ok, I'll bite on the place with the shittiest people. Number one, hands down, shittiest place I've ever been, of every where I've been in this world, as far as people - MISSOULA, MT. I was working there for 20 months and rented a house so I know exactly what I'm talking about. It's fine if your skin is the tone of printer paper but anything darker and your fucked, absolutely fucked. A river may run through it but it doesn't flush out the racist shit. Norman McClean (sp?) Is right. The world is full of bastards. He was wrong in the fact that they don't multiply the farther you get away from MISSOULA, they multiply the closer you to the center of MISSOULA. I feel a rant coming on and epic would be an understatement. This rant would get me banned from this site and that state so I'll leave it with you at that. It's a beautiful, unbelievable state scenery wise but if you're the slightest but brown beware.
