Trip to New York

Me and my girlfriend are taking a trip to New York, so we could use some advice on where to stay. Neighborhoods with a lot of abandoned buildings, specific addresses, whatever.
 
not really able to give a place to stay but there is a drop in around 27 allen st, if you walk on canal towards chinatown and over a hill, its mainly for sexual health, tampons, plan B stuff but people are always in there eatting and drinking coffee, free coffee is awesome. [assuming you will be visiting the city]
