St Louis

I'm gonna be in St Louis for like a week or two and have no idea what the fuck is there. Only thread I could find on what's there was some dude looking for hotels??

So any good collectives, infoshops, good diving spots?
I hear the cops are total dicks, but do they fuck with buskers?

I'm not 100% sure what part of St. Louis right now.
I heard the zoo is free admission and the gardens are pretty cool.

I can only speak as a former resident.

The city police for the most part are too busy dealing with the deluge of more serious crimes to bother buskers, but since many parts of what might be considered the city elsewhere are independent municipalities they're much more active.

The most common spots people seem to bear signs are
On Ramp from I-64/40 to Kingshighway
Delmar Loop (though that's more heavily policed)
Corner of S. Grand and Chouteau Ave adjacent to the old Pevely dairy complex.

Tons of free parks, events, and museums (Forest Park has the greatest concentration)

I don't have more information on collectives or first hand experiences, I'm still new, but I'd recommend Cherokee Street, Tower Grove, and/or Old North St. Louis as spots where you might find kindred souls or someone to point you in the right direction.
