Southern Cali to NYC

I am currently in Southern California and trying to make a rough plan of hwys to take from here(socal) to NY. Any recomendations on good routes to take, sights to see, places to visit, etc.?? Im not looking for the most direct route but one that will get me there...i would prefer to take a more southern route but open to suggestions!

yea i agree with paddy melt, I40 to I81 will get you prety close, or you can try I95 which will take you directly to NYC
