Sneaking into Jazz Fest

Please don't berate me but I felt like this was the best place to get a solid answer on this question. I felt as if the New Orleans subreddit wasn't going for this at all lol We are approved to volunteer at Jazz Fest this year but they want us to work during Dead and Company and that's really the only reason we're hitting it so I was wondering if maybe there's an alternative way to get in without having to pay ticket price? Any thoughts?

A friend and I hopped the fence one year and didn't get caught but that was over a decade ago. Can you go do the job and ditch the first time they leave you alone?
