A female friend recently asked me what my ideal woman was, so I said: "Examples from the media?" she nodded in assent. "Marla Singer,Mallory Knox, Sara Connor, and Harely Quinn, but only *after* she stands up to Mr. J and stops letting him walk on her." Without missing a beat, my friend replies: "Oh, you like the strong, independent type." ::wacky::

Yeah, HBC did a good job at portraying Marla. I liked the character in the book even more.

I'm reminded of the time a kinda conservative friend of mine asked me a similar question, and I rattled off a similar list. He half yelled at me, "You do realize that you're admitting to be attracted to women of the psychopathic spree criminal type, right!!!!" I stared at him deadpan until it became evident that he was waiting for an answer from me, so I replied, "So, what's your point?" :D
