Ready to leave Louisiana heading west

So ready to get the fuck out of Louisiana, nervous about where to go in TX, we are thinking Austin, heard they have a lot of jobs and money there. Anyone have any advice? Definitely heading west just need some advice on a good city to stop and spend a week or two. HELP
 
former austinite here. yes, there are lots of jobs. sounds like you're driving, so just park in inconspicuous places just outside of busy areas and you'll be fine. look ag CL gigs for quick jobs, indeed.com if you want something more permanent.
