Patches, made from scratch or bought/found

No they aren't earned, in fact, a well respected member on here buys his train patches online to trade off on the road (and for himself of course).

Haha! I personally find men and green sashes VERY attractive.. ;)
Anyways, I don't have many patches, just one on the back of my hoodie (Jerry Garcia quite litelly has my back). But! I do both for hat pins, and it seems like I find/make most cool stuff after having dealt with bs of some sort. So each button is like an "achievement" haha.

I only really get attached to patches that have a significant meaning to me. One that I bought at a show traded for etc. I like having a story behind them it makes a good conversational piece. I've also been hooked on buying patches with the names of a town on them that you get a souvinir shops for places that I've spent a lot of time at or have special meaning to me.

In traveling contexts, in Portland OR i came across a 'trip city' (spoof off 'rip city' for those who were wondering) hat pin after a personal adventure resisting the pull of the psychedelic drug get-rich-quick scheme

moved to clothing section. please don't dump everything in general banter because you're too lazy to find a good place to put it.

This is a homemade patch that I have on my backpack:

The image is of goats with guns.
The text "Turn Illness Into A Weapon' was the motto of the Socialist Patients Collective, (SPK), a left-anarchist group of liberated mental patients who agitated in Berlin in the 1970s, and, after state persecution, their remnants merged into the Red Army Faction.
The goats are because they were the unofficial mascots of a Mad Pride community I was part of.

Also I want to buy one of these for my jacket, support a band with a lot of sentimental value:

Some absolutely are earned. If you ask enough workers some will hand out vests/hats/etc with the company logos on them. These are precious. Most are simply ordered online by someone and traded.
