My given name is Charles, I am mostly called David though, or Dave, but i kind of like the name Skaggy(its the title of a Johnny Hobo song), but you can call me whatever. I am a New Englander raised but born in San Diego and have moved around quite a bit, mostly raised in Massachusetts but now reside in Downeast Maine at UMaine Machias. I know college is unpunx but fuck it, im not in it for the punk points. Ive been a hiker and a backpacker for most of my life and only recently gotten into the traveling community, i find the two groups to have a very similar mind set just different ways of going about it. Ive also been listen to punk for quite sometime, although im not as well-learned as i wish i was sometimes. I dont know if im ever going to set out and hitchhike across country or catch a train to New Orleans but i support it completely. A part of me wishes i was brave enough too throw my life by the waysides and start something new for myself, but to be honest its pretty scary. But I love reading and hearing about it, and if anyone ever needs a place to crash in Machias Maine, or a ride to Boston or Maine i make the trip on a semi-regular basis and would gladly give someone a ride. ummmmmm UP THE PUNX!

Welcome to StP. I hope some day you're able to just go on some kind adventure. You don't have to throw your life away and start something new (which is the vibe i got from your intro, scratch what i have to say if im wrong) to experience an amazing adventure . Hope you have one of these adventures at some point and share the story with us.
 
Are you a lobsterman/sternman? I am a commercial fisherman in New Bedford, MA & also a member here. Punk is an ideaology expressed by actions & never let anyone tell you what it is or isnt. Welcome aboard kid.
 
I worked on a lobster boat for a little bit over the summer sterning in Bass Harbor Maine, such a tough but fun job, i hope i can do it again this summer.
