Noob, exploring the UK

HI y'all. I'm john. Been in the UK for a while, and want to start traveling. I'd love to meet up with folks, since I'm still getting to know places. I'm from NC in the US, and have spent time in MA too.

Been in Leicester and Oxford, now staying about half way btw Reading and Oxf. Life in a sleepy little town is, well, too sleepy! Thinking about a place to spend the winter, then once it warms up again hit the road to visit Wales or Scotland on foot.

Can't wait to explore the StP and maybe meet some folks.

Mind if I ask which sleepy little town between Reading and Oxford? I've spent many happy times stealth camping and (trying to) poach pheasants on that area. I've got a sister who lives near Swindon, but she hates our lifestyle. When I visit her I usually sleep in an old horse trailer in a field above an awesome pub.
Feck, I wish I could join you. There's a certain dignity about tramping around the UK that verges on the sublime.
