New to this site, need advice

I'm a student at a community college in Virginia and I'm working full time at a Waffle House (I'm there right now, actually)

I'm so tired of the grind and I just want to go out with no responsibilites.

I have a dog and a car and I'm an aspiring musician with a lot of folk punk influence.

What else do I need?

start by reading kerouac’s canon. then you can watch ‘into the wild’ 50 times like everybody else on here

read the book on the road by Jack Kerouac. it's like my bible read it a million times and almost always have a copy in my pack.

Save up as much cash as you can. Since holding cash is now illegal, go to Walmart and buy a couple cash/debit cards to hold part of your cash. Try and live in your car for awhile. Look out for places to park either overnite or for several hours at a time: Starbucks, Walmart(not so good any more), casinos, etc. Then think again about what you want to do..

and yes, you can learn the basics on travelin for real cheap on here, but that's about it

i highly suggest the "learn as you go" method of self education in this instance cause ya never really know till u know, ya know?
