keep a car or sell it

Sorry I didn't know which section this best fit under,


Basically I'll be leaving some time this month and wanted your guys' opinions on if I should keep the car or sell it. I plan on hopping mostly and I just don't wanna fuck with maintenance and insurance and gas and all that. Be nice to hear your guys input though.
 
well, it really depends on how you want to travel. i mean, having a car is nice, and it's my preferred method of travel, since im getting too old to hitch (and losing patience with america) and the hobo lifestyle can be pretty hard (harder when you're older i think). so, sometimes the upkeep is worth it. if you want no responsibilities whatsoever though, then by all means, sell the car :)
 
I'm most likely gonna sell it. Just seems like way less of a hassle
 
When I go on my large adventure I am leaning more towards selling my car and hitting the road. I don't have a place to store it and it seems like more of a pain then anything else.
 
I feel like I could get along without a car pretty well to be honest, I like to walk and hitchin' just makes walking easier
 
KEEP IT. just put fuel stabilizer in the gas tank, cancel the insurance, don't bother renewing registration. Trust me, keep it. Find somebody with a barn or what or just tarp it. And the slabs are a bitch without at least a bike.

What kind of car is it?
 
Or drive it as long as you can afford and if it gets too hassle like scrap or sell it from wherever you end up.
