Hello. I've been lurking STP for a while now and figured I may as well make an account. I started my travels by thru hiking the appalachian trail and I've had the bug since. This year I set out to do the pacific crest trail and made it around 700 miles before deciding I'd rather just tramp around. I've also done a decent amount of bike touring. I like to sleep on roofs. Currently wwoofing in Oregon, hoping to make it to the jamboree come October.

Welcome! Glad to have ya on board. Sounds like you've been around a good amount. How is your experience with woofing? I've always been curious.

I'm aso interested in what you can offer about your wwoofing experience.

Welcome!

So, the first farm was fucking awful. Long hours doing stiff like painting and bucking hay with no opportunities to actually learn anything useful. On top of that this lady had the nerve to call me stupid to my face and was a right wing nut who was convinced the end is near. Busted out of there on my birthday and didn't look back. That was "perma organic farm" by the way. The farm I'm on now is primarily a u-pick strawberry farm that also had some veggies and animals and it's been great. The owner is very willing to teach.
The only thing that nags at me is the thought that 5 hours of work per day at 10/hour would net me 50 bucks and I'm only eating like $5 per day of food but I'm learning so whatever. Overall a good experience.

Awesome. At least you know where you are in pay at your present place. I would expect a person might have some bad run ins here and there. I hope it doesn't discourage you and that you can take what you've learned and apply it elsewhere when you decide to move on.

If you are near Minneapolis and have fruit, let me know (making wine:)
