First of all i want to say that i don't agree with the fuckery that the Israeli government does but i like these boots. They are worn by the the Israeli Shayetet 13 special forces and other Israeli special forces fighting groups. They are made in northern Israel.

I've been wearing these for a month and i love them. They are lighter than Chucks and the soles are very heavy duty. The company Palladium makes some like these but they are made in China and are not made to speacial forces specs.

They aren't ass kicking Docs or cool combat boots but for miles of walking they will be your best friend. For warm weather travelling, these are good.

I typically get a pair of jungle combat boots for summer that are wrecked by the end of the season. Might give these a shot this year, thanks for posting.

Your'e welcome. They're so ridiculously light that i might get a second pair to carry in my pack.

I have some Dickies steel toe boots right now, kinda heavy but they do they do the job. I might get these though, the price is damn good.

Interesting - I went to the Palladium website and I quite like a woman's boot there as while I don't travel long distance - I'm hiking all over the city (long time inner city bus rider) - and I work in an office so I wear bicycle clothes and some good walking boots - and there are some there - little high - but I may go for them. No info on weight though but I'm needing to reup my boots this winter. Thanks for the heads up!!!

how do they do in water?

They're not waterproof but they're very breathable. Definitely a hot weather summer boot. I read on a French Foreign Legion forum that they liked this style because when they did get wet, they dried out quick.

I really like these shoes, they look good and they sound good. I won't call them expensive, as they aren't, but it sucks that every order above 36$ will have to go through custom in Norway - adding from 25-40% to the total cost. That's my only deterrent to buying these shoes immediately.
