House life is killing me.

Hey people! So its been 9 months since I returned to the UK after travelling in the states and I've been desperate to get back ever since. I miss waking up not knowing where the day might take you, I miss meeting new people and I really fucking miss my partner. I've been using my time in Lincoln to work with an amazing group of people growing free food for the community and intercepting/redistributing food waste, which has kept me sane(ish) and given me a sense of purpose. Thankfully it's only 50 days till i get back (yes I'm counting, don't judge me), but until then I can tell this site is going to provide me with some good interaction and i'm so stoked to have been introduced to it.

Well hey and welcome to STP and until you get back out on the road, you are doing some good things and that is great. So when you say "back" you coming back to the States?

Hey, thanks! Yeah, I'll be back in the states at the start of August, picking back up where i left off in Portland, OR.

You should post some pics or even start a thread about that community garden you were showing me this morning. Its really awesome! I cant wait till you have some time to respond to some of the threads on here, i think youre gonna learn a lot from this community. Glad i could finally convince you to make an account ;3

just out of curiosity, have you done any traveling in europe? seems like a good way to kill some time while waiting out the time limit for coming back to the usa.

I haven't travelled in europe this year, but i plan to in the future. I thought about it a lot, but the work I've been doing here has been so important to me.

. Also the sexism is really surprising in this community and it gets pretty tiring hearing the same male dominated discussions in threads about women travelling solo.

First off, welcome to stp. I am sorry to hear that you are already tiring of male dominated discussions in threads about women traveling solo.

Secondly, can you shed some light on the surprising sexism here? That is something that should also be reported.

Your work to intercept and distribute food sounds like many people are blessed to have your help, and will hopefully spread cultural awareness also.

Again, welcome and sorry to hear you are already disappointed. This is not a sexist place at all. One of the things i also appreciate about this place is you will never encounter racism here, which is odd considering the amount of racist Juggalos I have met (no offense to juggalos.) Ive been coming to stp about 6 years now ever since some.. well.. Juggalos in Lawrence, Kansas told me about it. Never found a place like it. I do feel this is an incredibly welcoming place to all kinds of people and hope you feel welcome too.
